Macizo de Trevinca

The Macizo de Peña Trevinca is a mountain massif located in the Galician-Leonese Massif on the border of the provinces of Orense, Zamora and León. The area is divided into five different sections: Sierra del Eje, Sierra de la Mina, Sierra Pastora, Sierra Calva and the Sierra Segundera. The latter is part of the Natural Park Lake of Sanabria and Sierras Segundera and de Porto.

This mountain massif is the highest point of the Galician-Leonese Massif, with multiple peaks above 2,000 meters. In the vicinity of these peaks we find glacial lakes such as O Celo or Lagoa da Serpe. The absolute peak is with 2,127 meters the Peña Trevinca, which is also the highest point of Galicia and the province of Zamora.

The Macizo de Trevinca is a protected nature reserve of almost 25,000 hectares. It is a mountain range where man has left virtually no traces.
