The Ibones de Anayet are a number of charming little lakes at an altitude of almost 2,200 metres at the foot of the Anayet in the middle of the beautiful countryside of the Pyrenees of Huesca, near Formigal not far from the French border. The hike to them is a classic Pyrenean hike via the easily accessible trail of the GR-11 and therefore a very popular destination.

  • From the A-136 (1) we walk down the asphalt road to the ski station of Anayet (2).
  • We walk past the ski station and take the wide path to the left.
  • From here we simply follow the white-red marking of the GR-11, which passes through the Barranco de Culivillas.
  • After about 500 metres of ascent we finally reach the Ibones de Anayet (3). If you want, you can walk around the large lake here and then walk the same route back to the ski station of Anayet and thereafter the A-136.
